Jag är dina drömmar, jag är den som aldrig säger nej

I cannot believe Im going to talk about Darin (Swedish pop singer) again, but today I listened to his newest song carefully and the words are just so meaningful, that I just needed to blog about it... The song is actually an old Swedish song by Olle Ljungström, now Darin's version of the song that is called "En apa som liknar dig"  - a monkey that looks like you is more speed up and modern... The song is about the choices you make in life, the person you become and also about the person you really are behind the walls you put up... Anyways the first verse of the hooks goes like this : Jag är dina drömmar, jar är den som aldrig säger nej or in English :  I'm your dreams, I am the one who never says no. This phrase is the one thing that hooked me in and  I think that you can interpreted in a lot of ways, but this phrase makes me believe that the sky is the limit when it comes to dreams and that your dreams never say no... so that's why you shouldn't give up on your dreams.

Golden pearls on a red rock

Blazer: Stradivarious (old), Jumper: Cubus, Trousers: H&M, Pumps:Nelly.com
Hello girls... Sorry for the lack of post, I recently arrived from the gym and I m so tired... I'm going to sleep like a baby tonight... But before I do that, I just have to post this shots from today...As you can see here I'm showing off two new items. The red pants were a total bargain, I found them on the sale section at H&M, they were only like 7 euros and the gorgeous necklace is also an H&M item that I just needed to get my hands on, mostly because it reminds me so much of the Chanel necklace that I 've been obsessing for months now.  You know I've been dying to do a DIY on that famous chanel necklace but I figured that its way too expensive... I think I need to go on ebay or something...  I think its ridiculous how craft store materials are so damn expensive here in Sweden...
I wonder if its so every where? Do you guys shop at craft stores? Do you find them expensive or not?

Cozy DIY-ing

Hello girls, hope you had a great weekend, I spend my weekend with my friend Alexandra, on Friday we went out for drinks and on Saturday we had a major movie night, we stayed up until really late and watched around 5 movies.... I havent done that in a good while so it was super fun... One of the movies that we saw was " The perks of beinga wallflower" it was such a beautiful movie... Now I need to read the book... another movie that stood out from the films we watch was "Love and other drugs"... When I saw the trailer I tough it was going to be a little bit like "Friends with benefits" but it wasnt, it was a little bit like " Griffin & Phoenix" which by the is a movie must!!! But lets not talk about movies anymore. The whole purpose of this post was to talk about my latest DIY. I saw this lamps on a blog and I knew I needed to try it.. I think Im going to continue until I perfect it... and the coolest thing is that I fee like with this pattern I can do so much more... SO for this cozy DIY u are going to need:
The glues is not really necessary it just depends on the kind of paper you use.. But its better to use a harder paper for this design.
So what you need to create first is this pattern. Now when it comes to the measurements it all depends on the type of jar you picked. But there are some steps that are obligatory... Make sure that your paper is strong enough, and that it goes around the jar.... Make sure to left out 3 or 2 cm on the top of the pattern, and also 1 - 1.5 cm on the lower part of your design. Lastly you need to make sure to leave 1 cm on the left and right side of your patter... The length of your paper or the diameter I should say is also something you can decided on your own.
The next step is to make the panels, this is also an individual decision but I decided to make them 1 cm each... The next part is to cut around the edges. Make a line in the middle and fold your design in the middle. You need to fold it in and out, to make sure the line is secure... Now you dont have to make the line in the middle but my advise is to do the line in the middle first and then you can experiment... The next thing you need to do is to fold the upper part and the lower part both facing the opposite direction or in other words you can just face you pattern down on the table and then fold the upper part and the lower part upwards... And just try to make it look like in the picture... The next part is cutting...  I you dont have a craft knife, you can fold the pattern again in the middle, make a little cut and then open your design and then cut following the lines that you drew in previously... as you can see in the picture above.. The next step is to fold your design, forming the shape of a cylinder.  Secure both edges and thats it
Happy DIYING =)

Pawn shop blues

I cannot stop listening to  this song... I think its beautiful... The way Lana sings in this song is just so lovely to me... I dont really related to the lyrics... But I sure do have an experience or two of Pawn Shops... I once knew someone who sold something precious because they were in trouble, it was no biggy. But it was sad at the time, and this person got on its feet pretty quickly after that =)... But there is one line from this songs that got stuck in the deepest part of my brain and that is the part when she saids;  "Well, I didn't know it would come to this.... But that's what happens when you're on your own...  I often find myself wondering why some things get the way they get, I bet there are plenty of explanations but the second phase got me thinking... I wonder if the bad things that happen to us, happen because we were on our own?  This could be translated in so many ways and it doesn't literally mean that we were alone at that specific moment..  But it does mean, that we didn't seek for help, and that we were just to deep that we didn't see opportunities, we only saw close door, or maybe it means that it came to this because we were too on our own to see the bigger picture...
I dont why Im thinking about this now, and it really doesn't apply to me now currently... But I do know that I often don't allow myself to ask for help...

Style snatcher - Carrie Taylor inspired look

The pictures of Carrie Taylor- are borrowed from here
Stealing her look

My favorite section on fashion magazines and similar, are the " Get her look" or " Steal her look" sections. I think is a very easy and inspirational way to get us inspired. This type of posts are super helpful, specially for those days when you dont have a clue what to wear... U know sometimes when I dont have a magazine near me I go on google and just type in for example: Blue blazer + fashion trend or fashion week and I get so many inspiration... For this outfit I actually typed in mint sweater fashion week and I came across this look by Carrie Taylor, I felt in love with it and since I knew I had the brown leather skirt I knew I needed to try it... I was considering wearing brown pants to avoid being to matchy matchy but I changed my mind and I completely snatched her look, literately... Many of my favorite bloggers do this type of post and I adore them so decided to try it myself as well =)

To him =)

Hello there girls, I hope u all had a great V-day, with your valentines, friends, families or alone =). I had a great valentines day with my sweet valentine... The boy had this great idea of doing some valentines craftsmanship (origami to be more precise) instead of doing the traditional valentine stuff ... we were at the crafts store the day before yesterday and we got all the things that we needed ... You know, when he told me about this idea at the beginning of this week, my heart seriously melted... I mean how cute is that? I m not trying to brag or anything, but I think this is such a cool idea. I hope that we continue doing this kind of stuff in the future... I think its a great way to bond more and to do something completely different. I feel so lucky to be in his life... Thank you boo, for being the way you are!

Tweed, tweed

Skirt: Sammydress, Jacket: Primark, Denim Shirt: H&M, necklace+ horoscope ring:H&M, Blue ring: Nelly, Bag Lindex
Hello there, here is a little preview of the look that I was wearing yesterday. I've been planning to wear a look like this ever since I got my tweed jacket from Primark when I was in London 4 months ago. I'm so in love with tweed, its such a timeless piece, in my opinion. Besides being so timeless, another thing that I love about tweed is that is very versatile, you can dress it up and down and you always end up looking smart and well put together. One fun fact about this look is the bag. The bag is probably 5 years old, I had it since high school and I remember how I used to wear everyday. But I think its time to retired it... I want to get a bag similar to the famous chanel bag... But until I find that bag my five year old bag will do the job for now =)
I hope you guys are well rested and ready to make the best of the up coming week

Much love!
Amanda

After school

Hello there, so here is one of the outfits that I wore to school this week.. Seeing this look made me think about the fact that I totally forgot about how great jeans are... For me this is definitely something that I neglected in my closet. I used to own a couple, but after cleaning up my closet I ended up with only two or three pairs... Now I have a great pair from Whyred jeans and that was my go to denim for various occasions, almost for ages. But since I put up some weight the last couple of months my fabulous skinnies from Whyred didn't fit anymore... And I always though I was going to loose the weight in a blink but no... I m still dreaming about the day when I can fit again in my skinnies... But after all this didn't stop me from getting a new pair last week, which is the pair that Im wearing on todays OOTD. These are pretty good and non expensive. I though that there is no point in getting an expensive pair now that I have some extra kilos on my trunk...  But at the end of the day I just want to finish this post by saying that: Denim is a must and what shape you are really doesn't matter u gotta have them =)
